The variation of objects was overwhelming. There were no reservations about the contact of art and industry. Objects were presented by more than 20.000 exhibitors. Someone smart calculated that an insatiable visitor, who wanted to see everything, would have to cover 14 km. More than 6 million people from all over the world visited the Great Exhibition until ist closure on 1st October 1851.
