Roads not Taken. Or: Things could have turned out differently
Barrier-free offers
By providing barrier-free opportunities, the Deutsches Historisches Museum wants to contribute to an inclusive society and to allow all visitors to participate in our cultural programmes.
The exhibition “Roads not Taken. Oder: Es hätte auch anders kommen können” is designed for inclusion. In seven of the 14 display rooms the main texts are offered in Easy Language, German Sign Language, Braille, and Large Print as well as in German and English. In selected spots along the exhibition, texts are offered in tactile writing or in audio descriptions. Interactive and multisensorial interventions are also available, where topics can be experienced through touch, hearing or sight. The exhibition is largely barrier-free. Objects are displayed at different heights and showcases are designed so that wheelchairs can fit in closely.
