Engagement
The Deutsches Historisches Museum (DHM) is Germany’s national history museum. It presents German history in an international context and sees itself as a place to strengthen critical analysis and historical judgement.
Crucially, the DHM receives external funding, which donors give at the institutional level or to specific projects. Civic engagement and patronage are also vital for our survival.
The militaria of the former Royal Prussian Armoury and the former holdings of the defunct East-German Museum für Deutsche Geschichte (MfDG) are the pillars on which the DHM’s collection are built. But the DHM’s collection is not static and continues to thrive from new acquisitions and donations that are made with a systematic eye to the future.
In its efforts to expand its collection, the DHM benefits from the generous and crucial support of its patrons association, the Museumsverein (Museum Association). If you would like to support our museum and the work we do, become a member of the Museum Association today to preserve history tomorrow!
