Towards the Crisis From the British point of view the German foreign policy showed great inconsistencies, constantly changing between gestures of global supremacy and European security concerns. Slowly, the British were confirmed in their suspicion, that behind the hectic and incalculable German day to day politics loomed a strategy which ultimately was directed against Great Britain.
